5. Symmetry
A drawing or design that demonstrates balance using reflection or rotational symmetry.
A drawing or design that demonstrates balance using reflection or rotational symmetry.
Learning Sequence
Students produce seven separate task (outlined below) demonstrating their basic art making skills. The eighth square will represent their self-reflections in relation to the teaching and learning rubric and the 8 elements of art & the principles of art and design outlined in the main body of this plan.
Lattice/Weaving-Coloured/ textured paper lattice or weaving, with or without serrated edges.
Quilling/ Origami-Simple quilling technique or a paper folding technique used to produce a 3-D item. Background or detail drawn to enhance the image.
2-D Shapes-A range of different 2-Ds shapes to produce picture or pattern.
Value/ Tone & Shading - Walk The line -3-colours to shade each of the different sections demonstrating clear changes in shade and tone between sections.
Symmetry-A drawing showing how to balance an image using reflective or rotational symmetry.
Perception- An image of infinity such as a tunnel, track, road etc.
Texture- An image demonstrating a range of 3 different textures. Different types of colour medium may be used. Cross Hatch poitilism and scribble.
*Teachers please refer to the art rubric and the two attachments for support material.
